Les flammes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9es peu apr\u00e8s 23 heures, alors que le site \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 ferm\u00e9 au public. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette circonstance, aucune perte humaine n\u2019est \u00e0 d\u00e9plorer. Les sapeurs-pompiers sont intervenus rapidement et ont ma\u00eetris\u00e9 le feu aux alentours de 0h30 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sinistre a caus\u00e9 d\u2019importants d\u00e9g\u00e2ts mat\u00e9riels, notamment la destruction de la partie Est du pavillon OTI, o\u00f9 de nombreux stands et marchandises ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consum\u00e9s. Ce pavillon accueillait une concentration significative d\u2019artisans et de commer\u00e7ants participant \u00e0 la 4\u1d49 \u00e9dition du MIATO, un \u00e9v\u00e9nement majeur r\u00e9unissant des cr\u00e9ateurs locaux et des d\u00e9l\u00e9gations africaines autour du savoir-faire artisanal. Les pertes mat\u00e9rielles sont estim\u00e9es \u00e0 plusieurs dizaines de millions de francs CFA, selon les premi\u00e8res \u00e9valuations non officielles .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Face \u00e0 cet incident, les autorit\u00e9s ont imm\u00e9diatement ouvert une enqu\u00eate pour d\u00e9terminer les causes de l\u2019incendie. Le CETEF Togo 2000 a annonc\u00e9 un renforcement des dispositifs de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en collaboration avec les forces de l\u2019ordre et les services de secours. Malgr\u00e9 cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, le Comit\u00e9 d\u2019Organisation du MIATO a inform\u00e9 le public que les activit\u00e9s reprendront normalement le jeudi 1er mai 2025 \u00e0 partir de 09h00, apr\u00e8s une fermeture exceptionnelle le mercredi 30 avril 2025 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le MIATO 2025, qui se d\u00e9roule du 23 avril au 4 mai, met en avant la protection des \u0153uvres artisanales et la transmission des savoir-faire. L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement comprend des expositions, des d\u00e9monstrations de savoir-faire, des panels, des formations, des concours et un agenda culturel vari\u00e9.
