Le Pr\u00e9sident du Conseil, Faure Essozimna Gnassingb\u00e9, a re\u00e7u ce lundi la Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9rale adjointe des Nations unies et Directrice ex\u00e9cutive de l\u2019UNFPA, Diene Keita. La rencontre, \u00e0 laquelle a pris part la Repr\u00e9sentante-R\u00e9sidente de l\u2019agence onusienne au Togo, Elise Kakam, a permis de faire le point sur la coop\u00e9ration entre le Togo et l\u2019UNFPA, notamment autour des actions men\u00e9es en faveur de la jeunesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au cours des \u00e9changes, la responsable onusienne a salu\u00e9 les efforts du gouvernement togolais dans le domaine de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, qu\u2019elle a qualifi\u00e9 de pilier essentiel pour le d\u00e9veloppement du pays. Elle a soulign\u00e9 que le Togo s\u2019impose comme \u00ab un grand champion de l\u2019\u00e9ducation et de l\u2019\u00e9change entre les cultures \u00bb, r\u00e9affirmant la volont\u00e9 de l\u2019UNFPA de renforcer ce partenariat strat\u00e9gique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diene Keita a \u00e9galement profit\u00e9 de sa visite pour f\u00e9liciter les autorit\u00e9s togolaises pour l\u2019organisation du neuvi\u00e8me Congr\u00e8s panafricain \u00e0 Lom\u00e9. Selon elle, cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement majeur contribue de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 l\u2019avancement de l\u2019Agenda 2063 de l\u2019Union africaine, qui ambitionne de b\u00e2tir une Afrique unie, prosp\u00e8re et pacifique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019UNFPA, tr\u00e8s actif au Togo, continue de d\u00e9ployer des programmes li\u00e9s \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 maternelle, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 de genre, \u00e0 la planification familiale et au d\u00e9veloppement d\u00e9mographique. L\u2019organisation r\u00e9affirme ainsi son engagement \u00e0 accompagner le pays dans la protection des droits et des opportunit\u00e9s pour chaque femme, chaque homme et chaque enfant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
