Un b\u00e9b\u00e9 de moins d\u2019un an a \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9 mort dans une chambre, la gorge tranch\u00e9e. La macabre d\u00e9couverte a sem\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9moi au sein de la population, notamment dans le quartier Tchonvi Gbakpodji o\u00f9 les faits se sont d\u00e9roul\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selon les premiers \u00e9l\u00e9ments rapport\u00e9s, la nourrice du nourrisson se serait bri\u00e8vement absent\u00e9e, laissant l\u2019enfant seul pendant quelques instants. C\u2019est durant ce laps de temps que le pr\u00e9sum\u00e9 auteur aurait commis l\u2019irr\u00e9parable. \u00c0 son retour, la m\u00e8re a d\u00e9couvert le corps sans vie de son enfant, ainsi que l\u2019arme blanche qui aurait servi \u00e0 perp\u00e9trer l\u2019acte. Alert\u00e9e, la police s\u2019est rendue sur les lieux et a imm\u00e9diatement ouvert une enqu\u00eate pour \u00e9lucider les circonstances du drame et retrouver le suspect, actuellement en fuite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au regard du Code p\u00e9nal b\u00e9ninois, les faits pourraient \u00eatre qualifi\u00e9s d\u2019infanticide. La loi n\u00b0 2018-16 d\u00e9finit cette infraction comme le meurtre ou l\u2019assassinat d\u2019un enfant \u00e2g\u00e9 de moins de dix-huit mois. Les peines encourues vont de cinq \u00e0 vingt ans de r\u00e9clusion, assorties d\u2019une amende pouvant atteindre un million de francs CFA.
